1. Wednesday Aug 13th 1:03 AM: Assist CHP 

Location: Wyo Ave at 5th Ave (Glenn County) 

Officers assisted CHP with a failure to yield incident. Orland PD helped deploy spike strips to successfully stop the fleeing vehicle, bringing the chase to a definitive end.

2. Wednesday, Aug. 13, 10:40 AM – Civil Stand-By

Location: 300 block James Dr.

Two individuals, ages 20 and 29, had been in an argument that ended with the younger one vandalizing the older one’s vehicle. The 29-year-old declined prosecution and was provided with options — sometimes “walking away” is the most peaceful option available.

3. Saturday Aug 16th 12:31 PM: Reckless Driving on Highway

Location: SavMor, 35 E Walker St. 

Officers responded to a report of a reckless driver in a white Ford pickup that had parked in the SavMor parking lot. The Ford was found unoccupied, and officers were unable to locate the now mysteriously absent driver.

4. Monday Aug 18th 8:19 PM: Traffic Collision Hit/Run Non-injury 

Location: Sixth St at Monterey St.

Officers responded to a report of a crossing sign down in front of Moe's Market. Following an investigation, a 40-year-old man was identified as the driver who had an unfortunate encounter with the sign.

5. Tuesday Aug 19th 11:15 PM: Suspicious Circumstances

Location: Papst Ave at South St. 

Officers searched for a possible traffic collision after receiving a cellular alert but were unable to find any signs of an accident, leaving the mystery of the phantom crash unsolved.

Wednesday, August 13

7:53 AM: Civil Problem, Super Shopper Auto Center, 683 E Walker St. — A 22-year-old woman was provided with information regarding a non-criminal issue with buying a vehicle from a dealership.

9:02 AM: Lost Property, Speedway, 1185 Hoff Way — Found property was collected and placed into safekeeping.

9:06 AM: Civil Stand-By/Child Exchange, 300 block Meadowood Dr. — Two individuals, both 27 years old, were referred back to family court regarding a child custody issue.

9:58 AM: Forcible Entry, Orland Mini Storage, 241 E Walker St. — Management reported that a 42-year-old woman had broken into a storage unit after a civil lockout. The incident was documented.

12:53 PM: Suspicious Person, Newville Rd at Commerce Ln — A 34-year-old man was admonished for walking in and out of the roadway and declined assistance.

2:55 PM: Trespass, McDonalds, 128 Frances Lane — A 34-year-old man was admonished for trespassing and agreed to leave the property. The incident was documented.

Thursday, August 14

12:15 AM: Vehicle Abatement, 600 block Third St. — A white 2008 BMW 325 was marked for abatement.

12:24 AM: Vehicle Abatement, 100 block Fourth St. — A tan 2005 Toyota Sienna was marked for abatement.

12:28 AM: Vehicle Abatement, 1000 block Harryman St. — A silver 2004 Honda Civic was marked for abatement.

1:15 AM: Expired Registration, 10 block Mill St. — A parking citation was issued to a black 2012 Chevy Malibu for expired registration.

1:45 AM: Expired Registration, 400 block East St. — A parking citation was issued to a white 2000 Honda Odyssey for expired registration.

3:20 PM: Disturbance - Verbal only, 50 block Fair Ct. — A 35-year-old woman reported her ex-husband, a 32-year-old man, was at her residence causing a disturbance and left prior to officer arrival.

8:33 PM: Welfare Check, 500 block Sixth St. — Officers responded to a report of a juvenile walking in the roadway unattended. The juvenile had walked off after his grandfather fell asleep and was released to his mother after officers contacted Social Workers.

10:10 PM: Parking Viol, 700 block Porter Ln. — A semi-truck driver parked off the route was counseled and moved the vehicle.

Friday, August 15

12:59 AM: Suspicious Person, 500 block Seventh St. — A 51-year-old person was contacted after being reported sleeping on a picnic table, was admonished, and agreed to move along.

11:14 AM: Welfare Check, Newville Rd at 8th St. — Officers contacted a female who was not in need of any assistance during a welfare check.

11:18 AM: Disturbance - Verbal only, Library Park, 333 Mill St. — A 37-year-old woman who was screaming and yelling in the park stated she was having personal issues and was upset, declined assistance, and was advised of the complaint.

9:06 PM: Welfare Check, Maverik, 4473 Commerce Ln — Officers responded to a report of a runaway juvenile seen in the area. The juvenile was gone prior to arrival, and officers confirmed the juvenile had already been reported as a runaway with GCSO earlier in the day.

Saturday, August 16

12:42 AM: Juveniles Driving Under the Influence, Papst Ave at E Walker St. — A 17-year-old male driver from Orland was arrested for underage DUI following a traffic enforcement stop on a silver Honda Accord.

7:10 PM: Suspicious Person, Grocery Outlet, 1026 South St. — Officers responded to a report of a female going through a dumpster and determined she had permission to be there.

9:58 PM: Suspicious Vehicle, Walker St at 3rd St. — Officers responded to a report of a possible DUI driver and found the vehicle at Pilot. A 37-year-old female driver was contacted and determined not to be intoxicated.

Sunday, August 17

1:10 PM: Suspicious Person, Pilot Travel Center, 4444 Commerce Ln — A 27-year-old person sleeping on the west side of the building near the employee door was advised of the complaint and agreed to move along.

2:28 PM: Assist Westside Amb, 800 block Cherry Cir. — Officers assisted until no longer needed with a female who had a head injury after falling from a roof.

3:35 PM: Civil Problem (Not to Include Stand-By), 500 block Second St. — A 28-year-old man wanted to report a stolen vehicle, but it was determined to be a civil matter, and he was provided with options.

5:27 PM: Trespass, Maverik, 4473 Commerce Ln — A 35-year-old man causing issues at the store was arrested for trespassing and transported to jail.

7:54 PM: Suspicious Circumstances, Orland Manor Apartments, 817 Newport Ave. — Officers contacted and counseled a juvenile who snuck out the previous night and the parent of the friend the juvenile was with.

9:41 PM: Suspicious Person, Orland Manor Apartments, 817 Newport Ave. — Officers responded to a report of a suspicious person looking into a vehicle but were unable to locate anyone. A 65-year-old reporting party advised she saw someone on the other side of the fence adjacent to her vehicle and requested extra patrol.

11:38 PM: Disturbance - Verbal only, 800 block Second St. — Two individuals, 29 and 56 years old, were contacted regarding a verbal disturbance, counseled, and advised of their options.

Monday, August 18 

5:19 AM: Suspicious Person, Orland Manor Apartments, 800 block Newport Ave. — Officers responded to a report of a suspicious person looking into a vehicle but were unable to locate anyone. A 65-year-old reporting party who saw someone on the other side of the fence adjacent to her vehicle.  The call was unfounded and the reporting party was counseled on the misuse of 911. 

11:54 AM: Disobey Court Order, Orland Police Department, 800 block Fourth St. — A 62-year-old woman reported a restraining order violation. 

12:45 PM: Out of Control Juvenile, Fairview School, 1300 block Fairview St. — Officers contacted and counseled an 8-year-old juvenile who was hitting a school employee. 

2:29 PM: Suspicious Person, I-5 overpass at Co Rd 16, In County — Officers located and contacted a 51-year-old transient who was loitering under the overpass. The person was counseled and escorted from the freeway. 

3:35 PM: Driver Unlicensed, Sixth St at Trinity St. — A 40-year-old man was issued a citation for driving while unlicensed, having no proof of insurance, and expired registration after a traffic stop. 

8:08 PM: Disturbance - Verbal only, South St at Marin St. — Two individuals, both 45 years old, were contacted regarding a verbal disturbance. They were counseled and agreed to separate for the day. 

10:59 PM: Suspicious Circumstances, 100 block E Walker St. — Officers contacted a 31-year-old person in a suspicious vehicle who was advised of the complaint and agreed to head home for the night.

 11:30 PM: Assist CHP, Co Rd 9 at Hwy 99W, In County — Officers assisted CHP with a pedestrian sitting on a bridge until no longer needed.

Tuesday, August 19 

12:04 AM: Assist Glenn Co Sheriff, 200 block Sixth St. — A missing dog was reported, but officers were unable to locate it and forwarded the information to Animal Control. 

9:40 AM: Strong-Arm, 100 block Sixth St. — A 32-year-old woman reported that a 43-year-old man had battered her and taken her cell phone. 

10:40 AM: Suspicious Vehicle, Grange Hall, 200 block E Walker St. — An abandoned vehicle was reported, and officers found it to be parked on private property. 

10:50 AM: Disturbance - Verbal only, 800 block Second St. — A 29-year-old woman requested her 33-year-old brother be removed from the residence. A 56-year-old woman was served with a restraining order and immediate move-out order. Officers provided a civil standby while she moved out, and the brother was admonished for trespassing. 

10:54 AM: Battery on school grounds, C.K. Price School, 1200 block Marin St. — Officers initiated an investigation into a physical altercation between juveniles. 

12:47 PM: Basic Speed Law, Sixth St at Date St. — A 22-year-old man was issued a citation for speeding after a traffic stop. 

4:46 PM: Suspicious Vehicle, Maverik, 4400 block Commerce Ln. — A 55-year-old woman was contacted after a report of a possible DUI driver, and officers determined she was not under the influence. She was advised of the complaint about her driving. 

10:47 PM: Burglary Alarm False Alarm, Dollar General, 800 block Newville Rd. — Officers responded to a burglary alarm and found the business secure with no signs of entry.
